What we store when you report
- The area, the problem type, the time, and any details you choose to add (start time, feeder, receiving station, a note).
- A one-way hash of your IP address and of a random browser id. We never store the raw values, and they cannot be turned back into your IP.
- Notes you write are shown publicly as comments on the area page. Do not put personal details in them.
- Your GPS location, if you use "Use my location", is only used to find the nearest area. It is not stored.
Cookies
- gw_did: a random id so one phone counts once per area and to stop spam. Kept for a year.
- gw_seen: marks that you have visited before, for the visitor count. It holds no id.
- Advertising: this site may show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalised ads at Google Ads Settings, and read how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Affiliate links and donations
Some links to Amazon.in carry our Associates tag: as an Amazon Associate, JK GridWatch earns from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. Donations go through Buy Me a Coffee or UPI, which handle your payment details; we never see them.
Where data lives
Reports are stored in a Supabase (PostgreSQL) database and the site is hosted on Vercel. We do not sell data or share it with anyone, including the Power Development Department.
Contact
